Buenas Dias Y'all (Semana 26)

What is up y'all?!?!?! How's everyone doing!?!
This week has been a pretty good one and also pretty strange cause we haven't been in the streets as much this past week.
So on tuesday I got to be like a secretario of the zone cause we had to fix the mission reference system and we were working in an office for like 7 hours after the district meeting. We were starving when we got out so we got a bite to eat at a taco stand and went back to our areas to work for like an hour...and that was the day. We did have a really good lesson that night with Carlos and Jennifer! They are so cool and have ganas to change and are taking steps in the right path!
On Miercoles we were working all day! We actually made a goal to see how many buildings we could knock in this apartamento complex in our area cause we didn't have citas. We ended up knocking like 6 buildings and got 5 come back appointments. On Jueves we had interviews with president and they lasted about 3 hours because it was running behind so we lost a bunch of hours of work that day but we made it up on
Friday! We worked so much in Viernes! from 10am-9:30pm!! It was a fun day filled with lessons and contacting!
BUT The highlight of this week was Saturday!!  We met up as a mission and I got to see all my homies that I haven´t seen in a fat minute. Like my dude Elder Rodriguez from back home and Elder Schenck!. We had the opportunity to listen to Elder Andersen of the Twelve Apostles and let me tell you that was something special. Also just to even shake his hand and say "Buenos Dias" was something special. We had such a cool meeting with him and the spirit was so so strong!! He challenged us to do a few things -
1.  Talk with a be friends with the youth in our area! He wants us to know at least 100 people by name in our area!!
2.  Memorize about 10 verses from the New Testament and 10 from the Book of Mormon!

It was so amazing being there and listening to him speak!

Well thats all i got to say this week!!
got to go!!

aqui andamos (Semana 25)

Well this week was another one in the books and everything is going pretty chido here! We have been working hard and sweating harder. So its starting to get pretty hot here and my pobresito  compañero es de New York and is pretty much dying in this heat...the sad part is that its nowhere close to how hot it will get soon....but as my favorite saying is here, no pasa nada!
This week I got one of the scariest calls ever. On miércoles our zone leaders called us (which doesn't ever happen) and said that we are having intercambios for jueves... so my first thought was like "oh no...what'd i do wrong???" so i didn't sleep that night. but then the next day they're like "yeah its just so we can get to know your comp since he's in his training". so that was a relief. I ended up staying in my area with Elder Peña, new zone leader. este vato es bien chido y chilango (from mexico city) and we had a  really fun time together!
So lets see what else has happened this week...well we have been working a lot with members in the ward and this week we are going on a bunch of visits with them so it's about to be lit this week!!
Something that Elder Delcid and I have started doing this week is literally talking to everyone we see for two main reasons.
1. to find new people to teach!
2. to help our spanish, since we are both gringos and we don't know if what we are saying is anywhere close to real spanish or not haha
it seems to be working really well and its actually really fun!! you get to explain why they are talking in spanish to a big white dude in mexico (everyone seems to have this question here) and you get to meet some interesting people, especially the drunk people.
So since this week was Valentines Day I studied a little about charity and the importance of it. Charity is the pure love of Christ and the love that we should have for others. I invite all of you to try to show kindness charity and love this week with everyone around you!! (read this talk!)

well I got to go!!!
espero que todo este bien!!! siga echandole ganas!!!
les extraño y les amo!!!

Don't Lose the Luz (Semana 24)

thanks for the superbowl package fam
QUE HONDA!!! Hows everyone doing?!?
Mexico has been pretty great these past couple of weeks!!! I don't know what all to say!
This week we have been visiting a bunch of people and almost all of our nights are full of visits, which is awesome for 2 reasons-
1. We are able to have lessons with all the people in the familias because they are actually all home and the lessons are really awesome with more people!
2. People here in Mexico like to feed us so we get dinner like every night which is so cool!! Everyone here makes really good food and you know we eat good!

The familias that we have been teaching lately are La Familia Garcia, Celia y su fam, Grace y su fam, Carlos y Jennifer, y Laura.
All of them are so awesome and special in their own ways!
One thing that we have been really focussing on with all of them as of lately is building su FE (FAITH) en Jesucristo!! Fe is having a firm creencia en algo that moves you to act. Fe is a word of action. In the Book of Mormon, Alma Ch. 32, Verse 28-42. fe is compared to a seed that must be cared for to grow. How do we grow our faith?? The same way by growing a seed. By working on it daily, reading and studying the scriptures, praying always, and going to church are just a few great examples of growing your faith. (www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/32.21 ) (y'all should read it)
So yeah we have been teaching about faith a lot this week and how faith helps us in all we do!!
That scripture leads me to the next thing that we have been focusing on this week; The Book of Mormon. It is such an amazing and inspired book of scripture!! I invite everyone to read it!! Even if you aren't Mormon, I invite you to read it! It is literally another testament of Jesucristo!!

Last story of the week real quick! Sorry mom maybe you shouldn't read this part, haha. Ok so last week we lost power. It was really weird because we had just payed the light bill. We were like ok we will just call the dueño tomorrow. We just had to walk around in the house getting ready with a small flashlight that actually gave off a lot of light. So it turns out there was some "gang activity" or something like that in a sector of our colonia and some bullets had hit some power thing (don't worry mom we're safe). Back to the light. We had to rely a bunch on this small flashlight because it was pitch black in the house. We were basically helpless without this light. I was then like to my comp Delcid, "dang bro this light is like Jesucristo. He literally is the Light of the World. Without Him we would be lost and basically helpless without Him"  and he was like "woah fam, thats deep, you're so right". Jesus es literalmente our LUZ!!! We must always build our faith and rely on Him everyday and He will always be that light in our lives!!

well thats all!! talk next week!!
les amo y les extraño!!

Como estan? (semana 23)

We had a cool fiesta today!

Well this week just flew by...just like the rest! It's kinda crazy how fast time is going out here and it is so so fun!
We have been working pretty hard this week with our investigadores to prepare them for baptism which is really so amazing to watch. They are all learning so much about Christ and are really trying to change their ways of life and grow closer to Him. When we really focus on Christ and try to improve our lives everyday to follow Him more perfectly we will see so many blessings! We will have so much peace and happiness when we follow our Savior! Something that I have been focusing on is studying the scriptures whenever I have time. You can learn so much through the words of profetas and you can really find answers to the questions you have!
Well I actually had no time this week to write but just want to leave y'all with my testimonio que yo sé que Jesucristo es nuestro Salvador. Él vive. Él nos conoce y es la unica persona que pueda ayudarnos en cada aspecto de nuestras vidas. Cuando nos acercamos al Salvador podemos sentir el amor que tiene para nosotros!
Well, I got to go! Sorry it's so little but I promise more next week!

les extraño y les amo!
