What a Week! (Semana 77)

familia that i found and taught in nuevo laredo!! they got baptized this week!!!!
Well this week we have been SUPER busy!!! Well, that's just about like every week nowadays.
So this week we had the chance to go to 4 zone conferences and do some training which is always so much fun. It was really awesome to see all my old friends and make some new ones. That's the cool part about going all over the mission, you get to meet a lot of people! We've been talking a lot about the importance of the Book of Mormon and the impact the it has on the lives of others. It's honestly one amazing book that truly is the word of God.
This week we also had divisions with our zone leaders and I went with my dude Elder Blanchard. It was a blast because I was his first zone leader when he got to the mission.  We worked pretty hard and invited a few people to baptism and they accepted!! We ended the night with some campachanas because he has never tried them before.
We also got to go to Nuevo Laredo for their zone conference and I was able to see an awesome family that I found and taught while I was there. It was Jenifer, Macario, and Adrian! They all got baptized and I was able to congratulate them!!
This next week will be filled with conferences as well! We have another zone conference tomorrow, then on Friday a leadership council and on Saturday and Sunday is the General Conference! It's going to be so awesome to listen to the words of the prophet and apostles.  I'm so excited to listen and learn.
Well that's all I got for this week. We are just gonna work hard everyday all day and help as many people as we can!!!

Busy week!! (Semana 76)

Hey y'all!!! que tranza carnales???
Well I'm doing great done here in Monterrey!!! This week has been pretty crazy with visiting all of the zones for their conferences and having to train the missionaries and still trying to work hard in our own area. Let's just say that I was pretty exhausted. Today we didn't even have a full pday because of visiting zone conferences, but it has been a really awesome week.
This week we also headed up to Nuevo Laredo for a few days to do their conference and work with the zone leaders up there. It was super fun and it was also awesome because I got to see the family that I had found and taught the night before their baptism!! We got to talk a bit and it was great to see how far they have come in the gospel!
Elena is doing really well and is ready for her baptism! Roberto is also working really hard to get baptized on the 2nd of march. He was able to drop his addictions for a week and now he is going for a second one. We had the opportunity to fast with them and he said that it really helped him to make the changes. I also love the scripture found in Ether 12:27 -
"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."
We shared this scripture with Roberto and Elena and they absolutely loved it! It tells us that we all have weaknesses so that we can humble ourselves and come unto Christ so that they may become strong. I have a bunch of weaknesses but I know the Savior can help me become strong as I come unto Him.
Well, like I said it's been a crazy busy week and I've got to go but I love y'all lots!!!

Long Week..... (Semana 75)

Well, this has been one super tiring but great week!
We started off on Sunday night by going over to the offices to do the transfers and make all of the calls. That was honestly super fun and cool to do. Then on Monday morning we went to the airport to pick up the new peeps. It was cool because I remember when I got here almost 18 months ago and it feels like it was just yesterday. On Tuesday we had to train the new missionary trainers and then help them all head off to their new area. Later that day we got to hang out with the missionaries that were going home and then go to President's house to play some basketball, eat dinner, and have a testimony meeting. It was pretty cool but I also felt weird because it was just me with a bunch a missionaries that were going home. On Wednesday we woke up super early (3am) to go take the old guys to the airport to send them all home. That was a super weird feeling but awesome because I realized I still have a bunch of time here to work!
We then had a meeting with president at like 8am and then we went out to work. It was super tiring jajaja but its all good. Then on Thursday we had a leadership conference with all of the district and zone leaders and Elder Diaz and I had to do a bunch of training. Then on Friday we had a Leadership Council with the Zone Leaders and we had a good time there and we also had to do a lot of training. So yeah its been a crazy and long week! We also had divisions with the Zone Leaders from Nuevo Laredo, Elder Norman and Elder Gutierrez so that was dope!!
On Saturday we actually got to work and we had some amazing lessons and found some amazing people. Our investigadores, Elena and Roberto are progressing really well and are loving the gospel. They are seeing a bunch of changes in their lives and are loving it! Hopefully that can keep on going strong and will be able to reach their first goal of baptism and then in a year they can reach their second goal and be sealed in the temple!!!
also here’s  my favorite scripture of the week; 3 Nefi 19:26
"Y Jesus les dijo: Seguid orando, y ellos no cesaban de orar."
so yeah it basically says KEEP PRAYING!
well thats all I got!

SATURDAY!!! pday in Monterrey!! (Semana 74)

If you thought last week was crazy wait until you hear about this week....
Started off as a normal week. We left the cyber and were heading to a teaching appointment when all of the sudden President calls and tells me that I have special cambios. He then goes on to tell me that I needed to pack all of my bags and head to Monterrey early Tuesday morning and that I will be working in Contry with Elder Diaz again but this time as the APs...so yeah that was super super loco. I did not see that coming at all...like at all at all. This will be my third time serving with Elder Diaz.  He is awesome!   I am currently in the center of Monterrey which is so different than Nuevo Laredo. I am surrounded by rich people and huge buildings which is a complete 180 from my last area but it doesn't matter where I am because I am still gonna work.
It was sad leaving all of the great people that we found up there in Nuevo Laredo but I am starting to meet some awesome friends here. To start off this week we found an awesome young couple that have a little boy. They had just been in a car accident a month ago and they were lucky to come out alive. Elena (the wife) knew that God saved her for a reason and she started to go to a bunch of different churches with Roberto, her husband, who had little or no faith in God. We went for the first time on Tuesday and we had a good lesson. Elena was super interesada but Roberto still said he was just listening to support his wife. After the lesson however he told us that he felt something very different from the other churches and he felt a lot of peace and warmth. The next time we went we talked a little about the Book of Mormon and then invited them to baptism and they both said yes! Roberto said he gained a testimony that God lives and loves him and said the most beautiful and heartfelt prayer ever.   Everyone started to shed a few tears. The Spirit was so so strong!
We have some other dope people that we are teaching and that we hope will keep progressing as well! It's a lot different to work in the city. Oh and we have to climb a mountain to get to parts of our area so that's fun and a workout.  We also have some of the nicest plazas in all of Monterrey in our area. It's so cool. I honestly feel like I'm in Dallas at times jajajaja.
As asistentes we have to do divisiones with all of the Zone Leaders so on Wednesday Elder Bringas and Elder Valencia came to our area and I got to go with Valencia without even knowing the area at all....yeah so it's been great learning the area on the fly.
This next week is gonna be good  because we get to go to the airport for the new missionaries arriving and to send the old people home. (I'll have pday on Mondays but today is diff because of the cambios on Monday)
Well that's all I got!
