Feliz Cambios! (Semana 68)

How is everyone doing? I'm doing great here in Nuevo Laredo!
So we got transfer calls this morning and I am staying here in Mirador 1. Elder Diaz is sadly leaving and is going to be the new assistant to the president. He is pretty sad that he has to leave. Me too. I was with him for 6 months! That's so crazy!
Ok, so this past week Violeta was baptized!! She was a girl that we were teaching and she moved to a different area but we were still able to go to her baptism! She is so amazing and was so happy to be baptized! She loves learning about Jesus and wants to follow His example. She even reads the Book of Mormon and the Bible to her 2 younger brothers! Honestly she is so awesome!!!
Some sad news is that Jenifer, this girl we are teaching, had to have surgery this week. Her appendix burst and she had a bad infection but she is recovering very well now. I was able to give her a blessing before she went to the hospital which was very spiritual and she was able to get through all of the operation easily and without any problems. Her baptism was going to be next week but she is still on bed rest but we are hoping for the last week of December she will be all good to take this important step in her life!
Elder Diaz and I went hard this last week and we found some dope people to teach! One of them is named Cynthia and she is so awesome. Her sister is a member of the first ward that I was in here in Nuevo Laredo. She told us that she really wants to learn about the gospel and is willing to follow the invitations that we give her to read, pray, and go to church. She really wants to be baptized and have more peace in her life! She is so amazing!
That's all I got for today! I have to go to the bus station to send off all the missionaries that are leaving Nuevo Laredo.

Monterrey! (Semana 67)

YO YO YO whats good my guys!!!
So this past week was super fun and really exhausting!!!
Alright so to start things off we had intercambios with Elder Padilla, Elder Benitez, and Elder Taylor. I got to go to Villas de San Miguel with Padilla and Benitez and it was pretty dope. I got to check on the progress of them and they are both doing great. They are super awesome missionaries. We also met a new friend named Juan...he's a narco. He told us a bunch of stuff  and showed us his gear and it was awesome and just a little scary at the same time.  But it's all good cause he assures us he's our friend and if anyone is bothering us or does anything we just need to tell him and they got us covered. Apparently, there was a shootout  a few nights ago between them and the marines that he was not afraid to admit that he was a part of.
On Wednesday Elder Diaz and I headed down to Monterrey to stay the night and be ready for the Leadership council the next day. The council was super chill and I got to see some old friends (some that are about to go to their home but were new to the mission when I got here lol). We talked about our callings and how to have success in our zones as well as everyone having their own personal conversion. All in all a pretty solid council. Afterwards we went on divisiones with the Assistentes which was super dope! I love working with them because they are so funny and we are all pretty good friends. I went with Elder Riches, super awesome elder from California which i'm gonna hit up at BYU. We taught a few people and talked to so many more! It was awesome! At night it was a party with Garrido, Riches, Diaz, and I. We ate some Little Cesars and Elder Garrido taught us some MMA (he was a pro fighter before the mission) and he straight up killed Elder Diaz jajaja. It was so funny. The next morning Elder Diaz and I hopped on a bus for 4 hours to get back up here to Nuevo Laredo to grind!!! And grind we did! We taught some great lessons and found some really awesome people and 6 of these people went to church with us and all of them have a baptismal date and are preparing to enter into this covenant with God!!!! It's so awesome!!!
I know that this is the path that God has given us to follow! To have faith in Him and repent. To be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost by someone who has the authority to do so and most importantly, endure to the end. Press forward with Faith my friends!!!

Well thats all i got folks!

ya es diciembre!!!! (Semana 66)

Another month has come and gone and its already DECEMBER wooohoooo!!!!
It's crazy how fast the months are just flying!!! All I know is that I am loving every moment of it!!!
Ok so to kick off this week Elder Diaz and I went over to Anahuac, a pueblo thats about an hour away from here and literally in the middle of nowhere, to check on the elders out there. It was actually super fun to go out there and explore a new place! It is literally just this little town with basically nothing by it and everyone knows everyone there. It's so cool! We got to work a bit out there and help Elder Sant'ana and Elder Ramos.
The rest of the week was pretty normal. We had intercambios with Elder Low and Elder Balam on Friday and I stayed here in Mirador and we had some pretty great lessons and invited 2 people to baptism and they accepted! It was a pretty awesome day and overall we had a bunch of fun. On Saturday we had some pollo asado with the familia Serna and the other elders here in Mirador. On Sunday we had a new girl, Romana, come to church with us and we also had a family of 5 come with us! It was so amazing to have them all there with us and they all loved the church and are excited to come back next week.   Oh also december starting has caused my companion to freak out cause he only has like 3 months left jajaja!
Last night we had the opportunity to go to watch the Christmas Devotional. First of all it was awesome because it was in the stake center and I got to see all my friends from the Viveros Ward and they all love me and I love all of them!! SO that was a great way to start the month. The other beautiful part is that I love listening to President Russell M. Nelson talk! I loved what he shared with us about the 4 gifts that we receive from Jesus Christ.

 1. Jesus Christ gives the unlimited capacity to love.
2. The Savior offers the ability to forgive.
3. The Savior gives the gift of repentance.
4. The promise of life everlasting.

So during this Christmas Season let us think of the gifts that He so freely gives us and find something that we can offer Him in return.
